Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried lemon balm leaves (or 2 tablespoons fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger (approx. 1-inch piece)
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  • Boil 1 cup of water and pour it over the lemon balm leaves in a cup or teapot.
  • Let the lemon balm steep for 5–7 minutes to extract its beneficial compounds.
  • While the tea steeps, grate about 1 inch of fresh ginger.
  • After steeping, strain out the lemon balm leaves and pour the tea into your cup.
  • Add the grated ginger to the tea and stir well.
  • Squeeze in the juice of one lemon.
  • Optionally, add 1–2 tablespoons of honey and mix thoroughly.
  • Drink warm or let it chill in the fridge for a refreshing iced detox tea.
